Ka'oir Lipstick Review & Rant





Hey everyone,
I just recently received a package I ordered from a company named Ka'oir. It was started by Keyshia Dior; a Jamaican model/ video vixen.She previously was affiliated with a company called Secrete Kisses. This company also has similar items for sale. The Ka'oir line contains Vibrant colored lipsticks, lip gloss to match, eyeshadow, and nail polish. This company is fairly new but hitting the mainstream fast. People all over are tweeting Ka'oir and face booking. It's perfect for this seasons trend. VIBRANT/ BOLD COLORS. I ordered four lipsticks from the line; (as appears from L-R) Rude Girl, Golden Goddess, Jamaica, Ooh La La.
PROS:
They apply on very smoothly, and the colors are true. You can apply very little for a sheer look or more layers to make it opaque. I would suggest exfoliating your lips with a scrub before use, and also applying a sheer base of chap stick. The lipsticks can be somewhat drying and will definitely catch on dry chapped lips making the look appear unattractive.
CONS:
When I placed the order I payed through PayPal. I received a box about 11 days later, which contained three lipsticks. Golden Goddess, Jamaica, and Ooh La La. A note was in the box which read as follows. "Dear Valued Customer,
We regret to inform you Rude Girl will be on back order until next week. Don't worry; we will automatically ship it to you as soon as it arrives! We apologize for the delay and inconvenience. Please contact customerservice@kaoir.com if you have any questions." I decided to wait for the lipstick to ship against my better judgement. I thought to myself, "How will I explain this letter to PayPal?" I mean it's not like they could see the letter sitting before me. I feel that a email directly from the company would have been better suited for this situation. After another ten days I emailed customer service and when I received no response I searched Google for all the information I could find on Ka'oir. I found a number linked to the company and decided to call. The woman who answered on the other line did not sound like customer service. But i preceded to ask questions relating to my order. She told me she was Keyshia's manager! WOW! What are the odds? She also told me to wait more time and if I had not received my package to contact her and she would call Ka'oir herself and tell them where to ship it. I ended up emailing the company another two times and calling Keyshia's manager again. Then all of a sudden a miracle. I got a email containing a shipping number stating my item was in route! "Finally" I shrieked. After a little over four weeks I have my product.
OVERALL:
I do not think I would order from this company again. The customer service sucks. Without customer service a product really is nothing. This experience turned me away completely and I hate that because the products are awesome. So I guess the next time I get the urge to order vibrant colored lip gloss or lipstick I will probably try the OCC lip tars line.
I hope this helps someone. I always read blogs, watch YouTube, and read reviews before I purchase any products. I just took a leap of faith with this company knowing it is fairly new and hoped for the best. Never Again, next time I think I'll stick to my old habits.

  1. You are so very right about Kaoir's customer service. IT SUCKS!! I purchased a tube of rude girl. It is miss-labeled because it is actually racquel. I took pictures and sent emails. Long story short, we went back and forth to no avail. I do not even believe they looked at my pics because I stated I wanted to return it and they told me they do not do refunds or accept opened items. Clearly the item was UNOPENED. It is such a shame because I really wanted to purchase more colors. Oh well, I will find other manufacturers. Thanks for your review!

  2. Hey!! You are right! I ordered one tube of lipstick 3 weeks ago and never still havent recieved it!! Whats worse is that they have my money! I emailed them back and forth and they LIED about mailing my order. Thinking the post office was at fault, I calling them. They never even recieved the package at the sort facility. I emailed them again and they say they were going to send me a replacement. Where is the replacement? Or even an email sending the new replacement? NOWHERE.. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

  3. Looking at the reviews convinced me to purchase. I purchased "wifey" on a Friday and it came on a Tuesday so I was satisfied with that part. But . . The color wasn't what it appeared to be on Keyshia Kaoir and we are about the same color. Also the lipstick applies like any other lipstick and gets cakey too. I just assumed that it would be very creamy and didn't nees any gloss or anything. I wasn't satisfied at all. Shame because I love her style.

  4. Have you tried the lipsticks from My Beauty Addiction? The colors are opaque and vivid as well for almost half the price of Kaoir. Only thing is Kaoir has more lipstick colors, My Beauty Addiction has more eyeshadow colors.

  6. I personally love the product's and they look good on me..i know some of you have experienced some bad situations but nobody is perfect i think you guys should give the company another chance.

If the customer service would respond when contacted and be willing to cancel and refund monies I would be more inclined to give this company and thier products another shot.   7. I also have to agree that customer service SUCKS Big Time. If the products you order arenot in stock it should be stated before you place your order. I have sent 2 emails & no definate response about when will I receive my order. Just a basic response there may have been a delay in your order once we sent you a confirmation that your order was shipped . Still waiting on my order !! I will never order from this company again . I will try to get my money refunded back via PayPal @ this point!!

I bought these product a year now, my Sex broke for no reason, Milk Shake look like you just color your lips with chalk, Virginity look like you just ate power donut, but i must say Nudity is by far my favorite. Ms. Keyshia keep doing vidoes, cause this business venture isn't all that good. Expansive lipstick that does the same thing 2.99 one does, honey pray for no competition, cause that all you have. not trying to hate, all for black young businesses, but talk to your manufacturers, quality is the key. oh fire those customer service people they suck bad.

  9. I am so upset. I was trying to give KA'OIR some time to get better, but it doesnt seem as tho thats going to happen. So many sites/reviews are saying the same thing about an order taking forever to arrive or never show up at all. Sad. I'll go elsewhere. Thanks ladies

  11. Im pissed off. I want my money back. Its been 18 days since I ordered. Customer service sends back an automated reply that lies and says you'll be contacted in 48 hours. Im about to be this lame ass company's worst nightmare. You dont play with my money Keyshia!!! Stick to looking cute, business is not for you.....

  12. Yes the service suck I paid for faster shipping still took forever omg ! They lie and say the package has shipped but don't update the tracking because they really do not ship it out they just give you a tracking number . The glitz does not look how it does on keishia at all ! I will never order from them again gave them 2 chances there will not be a 3rd !!!

  13. I should have listened, KAIOR IS A FUCKING FRAUD! Dont expect the lipstick to look like it does on the picture, i paid $25 in all including shipping and handling for a product i do nor want. Harlem blue is bull shit!

    1. Well of course its not going to look like it did on the pics. Your skin tone and face structure plays a huge role in how lipsticks look on your lips. Also having overly sized lips will make it look pretty bad too. But have a normal set of full lips makes it beautiful. Idk which kaoir you guys are buying from. But uhhh...all the lipstick I purchased is gorgeous. I get compliments out this world and with that my product arrives on time :p I am still confused by all the kaoir hate comments. Her product is amazing and the delivery is awesome too.

I have emailed customer service like 5 or 6 times. I got a reply the first time saying they would look into it and that’s it. I haven’t heard anything else. It’s really a shame when companies do not value customers. I try and support small black owned businesses but so many have issues.

  15. OK so i just had to research the net and find out what going on with this Kaior line!!!! I had my boyfriend ordered my 7 colors on my birthday near the 15th of June, I even got impatient and made him pay the extra $27.00 so I could possibly8 wear some of this on the coming op holiday weekend.... Would You believe I STILL haven't received them! So, as I sent the initial email with the tracking number finally after 2 or so emails 3 days later Someone with no spell check on their iPhone or computer send a message that says "we apologize your order was pending and we were not notified by PayPal it was OK to ship your order,the order shipped today and we arrive tomorrow" WHAT A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT, AS A BLACK WOMAN I HATE TO SAY IT BUT DAMN IF YOU HAVE TO GET SOME WHITE PEOPLE TO RUN YOUR SHIT THEN, MA'AM PLEASE BECAUSE YOU'RE ABOUT TO LOSE OUT. I ordered 2 lipsticks from the company July 16th ,I waited and wAited til July 29th o inquire about my package,customer service replies your package was returned to us I dont know how the address got mixed up.But they said:We do not have access to your paypal account or have a reason to enter a random address you can pay2.00 and we can re ship it.I thought that was kind of petty but whatever,I paid it.i should have followed my first mind and cancelled the order.I receive an email stating the package was shipped July 1st still no package so I email again on July 10th asking where is my package 3 days later they just send a tracking number stating that the package was already delivered.I'm so pissed right now,I over paid to for a lipgloss a glitz stick and still don't have anything.I really wanted to support a single mother,but this shit is ridiculous .I will never order from her again.

  19. Consumers best tool word of mouth. Get it out there on the social networks. Their return policy is ridiculous. They will not accept any open product if open. The only way to know if a beauty product is bad is to open it.. new company sucks. Other cosmetics companies that's been around for decades have great customer service....DON'T BUY FROM KA'OIR

  20. Great blog, I have been debating buying from her for so long because I always do my research first before I purchase from a company. I've found so many times that people are saying they have not received their orders. That's so unprofessional... you can tweet and take picture of people's invoices and purchases but you can't send them out...smh gots to do better. But I went ahead and purchased POIZ by Rasheedah it came the next week. OH and for those who didn't know YES Secret Kisses, POIZ, and KAOIR are from the same manufacturer (a Chinese one to be exact). You would be surprised what you find out with a little Google image search lol. I Got "Aqua love" which is Kaoir's "Pool Party" and "Goin' Green" which is Kaoir's "Jamaica".

  21. Hmm that's strange. My packages always get to me on time, actually earlier then expected. Never had any issues from them :?. Maybe its the type of postal service to where your packages are coming and going to. Sometimes my package comes within 2 days sometimes 5 or less. Strange though, I always received mines in a timely and pro manner. Hmm idk maybe delivering to MI is easier

  22. The manufacturer is ladyburd made in the USA. They are a private label manufacture that already has stock product where you can purchase the exact same products from with your name. I'll stick to Lime Crime the quality is a million times better!!!!! I haven't tried OCC but will soon!

  23. this is the most hateful site i have come across. not only to mention these negative comments are mostly from last year. i am a makeup artist and i have ordered several items on several different occasions and never had an issue. i would expect longer delays during the holidays as i have with other companies i have ordered from online. sometimes situations are out of the their control since keyshia and her staff isnt hand delivering packages to your door. they have to rely on the postal service to deliver the packages. also to the comment above, her colors are custom made and i called lady burd to start my own line and asked about kaoir and they told me they no longer manufacture for her. they wouldn't say why, but i found another company to source my cosmetics.

  24. You know that you can get the some lip sticks at the beauty supply store, and the glitter in all the colors from hobby lobby. AND PAY ABOUT 6 DOLLARS!!!!! you get 12 different color cosmetic glitters for 4 dollars. the colored lipsticks are 2 a peace. how smart are you if you spend 50 for something that drag queens been doing for years.

  25. As for the comment above, I seriously doubt Lady Burd is divulging any information in regards to another customer. The reason the shipping is taking so long is because they don't have a warehouse with the cosmetics actually in stock. The orders are forwarded to the manufacturing company (Lady Burd) for fulfillment. That way Kaior doesn't have to invest money in stock, warehouse, employees, merchant services, you know..typical business expenditures. I have a hard time believing these are "custom" manufactured colors. It looks like a back room operation run by putting a logo on cosmetics bought from a private label service, run on somebody's cell phone, with a cousin handling "customer service" calls, storing returned lipsticks in black garbage bags to transport them to the nearest post office because they have no real world business experience. Anyway, figuring out how to do things the right way is so boring...it's much more fun to inflate sales numbers and look flashy. All of this is very obvious...what million dollar company do you know that has virtually NO write ups in the business press, NO publicly listed warehouse or office address, NO listed customer service number (fully staffed during business hours), "representatives" who do not communicate and do not keep their word, I could go on for days..

  27. I shop online all the time - literally a few times a week - and if I find a product that I love then I'm loyal to it. I was impressed by the videos and marketing for Ka'oire, but something seemed a little too perfect. I literally was about to click Pay Now in Paypal but, as always, I wanted to be extra sure. Glad I didn't order!

  28. You ladies should try out a company called Klarity Kosmetics. I believe the website is www.klaritykosmetics.com. The owner is awesome and she literally responds to you withing a few minutes to an hour at the latest. She offers some of the same colors at Kaior plus more at half the price and her shipping is free on all orders. I found them on instagram @klaritykosmetics. I think you all would be very happy with her shipping because she normally ships out the same or next day and I always receive my products within 2-3 business days at the latest.

  29. The worst customer service.They don't care about the customers. I was very excited to get the product but now I would never try to order anything from Ka'oir ever again. I ordered 4 lipsticks and the package was left outside my door. I never got the package. I have no idea what happened to the package. I contacted customer service and they told me they are not responsible for what happens to package after the mailing carrier takes it. Supposedly this is in their policy, but the interesting part is they have this information hidden from customers in order to see it you have to go to Contact and then FAQ. Also they give false information saying a signature is required upon delivery and obviously not because look at what happened to me. When I told them they are committing a violation by not putting that information visible to customers, also giving false information and then not taking responsibility for it, so I wanted them to either resend me items or a refund they stop replying to me. Totally disgusting.
