Laura Geller Makes Foundation for Deeper Skin Tones?

I recently placed an order with QVC for a collection created by Laura Geller. If you don't know who Laura Geller is, she is a makeup artist who really hit the charts with her famous mineral makeup. People fell in love with her balance-n-brighten foundations and blush products; not to mention her outta this world marble lipsticks! The line never offered foundation colors for deeper skintones until now. That's right ladies, it's finally here and it's everything it promises to be.
The kit is called Fall into Baked; it contains 6 items. All products are 1.8g, you will receive a blush in Apricot Berry, a Bronze-N-Brighten in medium, a duo marbalized eyeshdaow in Smokey Quartz and Golden Smoke, and a Balance-N-Brighten foundation in Deep, you also receive two brushes (a foundation brush and a double ended eyeshadow/liner brush). The total cost for this kit is $39.98 and does have a split payment option if ordered from QVC.
The products are beautifully packaged. They are small and compact which is great for travel or just to keep in your purse. While you do not have every item for a complete face, the products are multi purpose. Mineral products do not expire and are safe and healthy for use on the face and eyes, much more than your typical drugstore items of which can contain may parabens.
Balance-N-Brighten Foundation in Deep:
The foundation provides me with great coverage, the stiffer your brush, the more concentrated coverage you will have. I am pleasantly surprised about how well it performed. I did not notice this product to change colors or oxidize on my skin. It also did not appear to be ashy. It actually does just what is says...it balanced and brightened my skin. It is very finely milled, giving it a soft smooth appication but this can lead to the product being slighlty powdery. This is a matte product. There is no satin finish which I personally love.
Bronze-N-Bighten in Meduim:
This is a nice bronzer, it gives a warmth to the skin. If applied to the cheekbones you can contour your face for a slimmer look. I like to apply this just for a hint of warmth around the outside of my face. You could also use this in place of blush. This is also a matte product.
Blush-N-Brighten in Apricot Berry:
This blush is universal. It's a beautiful berry peach toned color. It applies soft and not so in your face if you will. It is very buildable, so if you prefer a bolder application that can be achevied as well. The product is a satin finish and gives a subtle sheen to the cheeks. Over all this is great for my natural girls like myself or my more dramatic divas!
Marble eyeshadow duo in Smokey Quartz and Golden Smoke:
This is the only product that I can't say is a favorite of mine so far. It contains two colors; a light pearl pink tone and a bronze shimmer with a hint of green. The darker bronze color looks beautiful in the pan but the shimmer in it seems to fall out onto your cheks and the lines under your eyes. It prefoms much better if applied wet. Its turns into a beautiful eyeliner. To use this dry in the crease try applying eyeshadow colors before your foundation so you can wipe away any excess product fall out. As for the light pink color; it works well wet or dry. This color really gives the illusion of a more open and awake eye. If you are having a day where you look tired and want to appear more awake, this is your product. It conatins no glitter but does have a sheen or satin finish.
My Thoughts:
If you have never tried Laura Geller products I recommend this set especially if you are of a deeper skin tone. Usually the sets are cheaper over all and conatin more products. I enjoy all the products, although the eyeshadows can be difficult to apply and work with. I think the set is afforable and that you get a lot of product for such a small price.
Have you tried Laura Geller? What did you think? Please be sure to leave your foundation color in your answer, this helps others when they read the reviews.
I hope you have enjoyed my review!
Until next time Divas and Divos!
